Out of Town Guests

I’ve been wanting to do a bag for our out of town guests for a while now.  And then I found these cheap tote bags from where else?  cheap totes. 89 cents each??  I think I can handle that.  And then I saw that you can use a stamp to decorate them a la Miss Mascara .

I know a lot of couples tend to use their initials or monogram or whatever, but honestly what will my guests do with a Mr. and Miss Fro Yo 4.17.2010 bag?  Probably throw it away.  Not that they won’t throw this one away, but I would hope they might be able to use it again.

As for what to fill them with…I’m still trying to decide that, but I’m definitely leaning towards Texas themed items because most of the people coming in from out of town aren’t from Texas.  I also want to do food because I know how much it sucks to be in your hotel room starving with no options except for the overpriced mini bar.

I’m thinking beef jerky (even though I’m vegetarian, it’s very Texas and not everyone else avoids meat)

maybe peanuts (spicy, lime, or regular)

and then maybe something sweet?  Though I can’t think of a Texas candy.  What would you all want in your bags??

Pecan pralines are very Texas/Southern. You could do a mini jar of Tabasco too. Hmmm, I’ll give it some more thought…

How about the childhood favorite – tamarindo??

a pecan praline with the items you mentioned or a small jar of Jalepano jelly and a few specialty (inexpensive) crackers. Perhaps a jar of Texas B-B-Que sauce and a packet or small jar of Texas spice or b-b-Oue rub.
